Disney’s new demand streaming service has been available for less than two weeks and it did not take long before hackers were able to compromise the streaming service and posted hacked accounts on sale for as little as $1.
According to several news sources, the extremely popular Disney + service amassed over 10 million subscribers on its very first day, and although subscribers were thrilled to browse through their accounts, they were quickly disappointed.
On November 12, within only hours of the service launched, Disney + users took to social media outraged that they have been locked out of their accounts and have received alerts stating that their account information and details have been changed. Hacked users claim that a fake email was sent to them as a service subscriber warning them that their account has been locked. Once the Email is opened, the subscriber is requested to supply their credit card details and account information.
Hacking websites, as well as cracked.to, were found bidding and selling Disney+ monthly accounts for $1 and annual accounts for as little as $3. Disney+ service is also set up to allow ten devices per one account – amplifying the issue since there is no concrete way to remove any device from an already connected account. Once successfully phishing the information from the subscriber, the hacker will then log into the account and block the legitimate user from accessing their account.
